Multan (Punjabi, Saraiki, Urdu: مُلتان ‬‎ [mʊltaːn] (About this sound tune in)), is a Pakistani city and the central station of Multan District in the territory of Punjab. Situated on the banks of the Chenab River, Multan is Pakistan's seventh most crowded city,[4][5] and is the major social and monetary focus of southern Punjab.

Multan's history extends profound into artifact. The old city was site of the famous Multan Sun Temple, and was attacked by Alexander the Great amid the Mallian Campaign.[6] Multan was a standout amongst the most essential exchanging focuses of medieval Islamic India,[7] and pulled in a huge number of Sufi spiritualists in the eleventh and twelfth hundreds of years, winning the city the epithet City of Saints. The city, alongside the close-by city of Uch, is prestigious for its vast accumulation of Sufi places of worship dating from that time.
