  • Mian Khurshid Anwar (Late) (Urdu: میاں خورشید انور‬‎) was a Punjabi politician, journalist and former deputy opposition leader of Punjab Assembly and commonly known as Founder of District Vehari. He was born in India, where his father was a sobaydar in Kapoor Thala, Jalandhar district India. He got his early education in Kapoor Thalla and migrated to Pakistan along with his family due to Indo-Pak partition. He came to Lahore for his higher secondary studies and became the student of Islamia College Lahore and participated in socio-political activities. He got into the company of intellectuals and historic companions such as Agha Shorish Kashmiri, Habib Jalib, Justice (R) Javed Iqbal, Tabish Dehlvi, Mian Mumtaz Daultana, Hanif Ramay, Ehsan-ul-Haq Piracha, Phool Muhammad Khan and Khawaja Muhammad Safdar. He started his political activities and actively participated in the presidential election of Fatima Jinnah held in 1965. He was a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab (MPA),
