The Tibetan Spaniel is a dog that is cheerful and loyal. While they are loving to those that care for them, they can also be protective. They are suspicious of people they are not familiar with. These dogs are quick to bark at strange people or animals. They can be stubborn and independent, but they make excellent companions and are the ideal family dogs. While they can get along with other dogs, owners may find it hard to train. It is important for owners to use patience when training this breed.
The only health problem that is common with the Tibetan Spaniel is respiratory problems. Other than this, they are a healthy breed and will have a maximum life expectancy of 15 years.
